 Indonesia Forms Preparatory Committee to Celebrate the 111th Anniversary of President Kim Il Sung

The Friendship Association and Cultural Exchange of Indonesia-DPRK held a meeting on Friday (24/3) to form a Preparatory Committee for commemorating the 111th anniversary of the founding of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea.

The meeting was held at Kopi Timur in East Jakarta and was attended by a number of members of the Friendship Association.

During the meeting, the Chairperson of the Friendship Association, Teguh Santosa, chaired the Preparatory Committee ex officio, and will be assisted by Secretary Sarah Gunawan.

While the Board of Trustees of the Friendship Association, Mr. Ristiyanto, and Chairman of the Perkasa Party, Mr. Eko Surjosantjojo, became an adviser to the Preparatory Committee.

Kompas TV senior journalist, Mr. Yophiandi, will contribute as activity coordinator and will be assisted by RMOL Editor in Chief Widian Vebriyanto.

The meeting was also attended by Mr. Ri and Mr. An from the DPRRK Embassy in Jakarta.

During the meeting several pictorial films were also shown showing the development of the DPRK in the last two years during the pandemic era.

Also, Teguh underlined that for Indonesia and the DPRK, the month of April is special, and can be said to be "the month of Indonesia-DPRK".

"In 1965, President Kim Il Sung celebrated his birthday in Indonesia, while attending the 10th anniversary of the Asian-African Conference. We all know that on that occasion President Sukarno gave President Kim Il Sung a very special birthday present, namely the Kimsungia Flower," Teguh said in his speech.

The prize is remembered not only by the Korean nation but also by peace-loving progressive nations around the world.

“It is a symbol of the eternal friendship of the two nations and a symbol of the spirit of peace that never goes out," he said again.
